Dear Families, The time to register your child for the 2009-2010 school year has arrived! Pender Hill School and Mother's Day Out will be offering the same class choices for next year with the addition of a new Monday/Friday 2-year-old class. There is a slight tuition adjustment, which should hold for the next two years, barring any unusual financial circumstances. We strive to keep our prices affordable, however in order to continute to provide a quality program, we must continue to invest in professional development opportunities for our teachers and in supplies and materials for our classrooms. Mother's Day Out Information All classes meet from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. Children eat a lunch you have provided at school (meaning when you pick your little one up they are fed and usually ready for a nap after a busy day!) For children between 12 and 24 months old we offer a one-day program on Wednesdays or a two-day program on Tuesday/Thursday. To be a part of our 2-year-old program your child must turn 2 by the end of September of the current school year. We offer two classes on Monday and Friday and one class on Tuesday and thursday for 2-year-olds. We also offer a Transition class on Monday and Friday for children turning 3 between June and December of the current school year. Tuition for our one-day program is $96/month. Tuition for our two-day program is $192/month. Preschool Information Pender Hill Preschool is a co-op preschool. We are members of the Virginia Cooperative Preschool Council. Please see www.geocities.com/vcpc1 for more information. In a co-operative preschool, parents assist in the classrooms a predetermined number of days per year. This participation helps keep our costs lower and allows parents the unique opportunity to fully participate in their child's preschool experience. Co-op days are considered a part of your tuition -- in other words you need to serve them in ADDITION to paying tuition, so they are listed next to the tuition fees for each class. All classes meet from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. Children bring their own lunches and eat at the school. *** Children in the preschool program must be potty trained, no Pull-Ups. We have a Mother's Day Out transitions class that may be appropriate for your not-quite-potty-trained child. Open Houses If you would like to learn more about our school, please consider attending one of our Open Houses. These will take place on January 7th, January 21st, and February 4th at 10 am. The Open House will consist of a tour and a question and a answer session with the school director. Registration forms will be available at the Open House and registrations will be accepted. Enrollment Procedure Enrollment will open to the public on February 2, 2009. In order to secure your first choice of class, complete the registration process early in the month. Registration will be first-come, first-served and we will begin taking forms at 8am February 2nd. Registration froms will not be accepted before this date, in person or in the mail. On February 2nd, forms will be accepted inside the preschool doors (the sliding glass doors to the right of the main church entrance.) please plan to drop off your forms on the 2nd as spaces fill quickly. Registrations will be accepted after February 2nd as space permits. You may pick up a copy of the form this week in the preschool office from 9am - 2pm.
